With a long, drawn out sigh, Mikaela turned over in her bed for what seemed like the millionth time since she'd first laid down. She had tossed and turned the entire night away, not feeling as if she got even a wink of sleep. There were so many thoughts racing through her head, and sorting through them was a complete pain and waste of time. Tossing the covers off of her, Mikaela threw her feet over the bed, shaking the cobwebs out of her thick golden tresses as she did so. She glanced up, staring at the bold red letters of the alarm clock menacingly as the numbers eight thirty shined at her tauntingly. She didn't have class until later in the afternoon, so why was she up so god damn early? Sighing, she ran a hand through her long locks once more, and pushed her body up from it's sitting position. Her dainty feet welcomed the coldness of the wooden floors as she quickly padded into the bathroom. Pulling her hair up into a messy bun, she jumped into the shower, letting the hot water pelt the stress from her tense body. All the feelings of stress simply melted away, and in a matter of minutes, she suddenly felt exhilarated and awake. Stepping carefully out of the shower, Mikaela wrapped a towel around her small frame and walked out to her closet. She had recently cleaned her normally disastrous room, so all her clothes were neatly hanging in her closet. She pulled out her school uniform with a few added pieces, which included a plaid skirt, a white tee, a loose plaid tie, and a light grey colored vest. To finish her look, she slipped on a pair of nude colored heels and her school bag to carry all her books. With a glance in the mirror, she was ready to go.
The walk to the quad was quicker than Mikaela had expected, but she wasn't about to complain. She had a couple hours to kill until class, so she wasn't in any hurry, and she was actually looking forward for some peace and calm in her crazy life. Quiet whispers filled the quad, bathed in giggles and snickers from bench to bench. She was a striking vision in her short school girl outfit, with her endless legs appearing to go on and on. So far, Mikaela had received many glares from fellow teachers and prefects who didn't approve of her outfit. She tried to follow the dress code, she really did, but she often got bored and tired of the same old uniform the administration forced their students to wear. So she just wore what she wanted, and if she got in trouble for it, then so be it. The sun rested perfectly against her fair complexion, brightening and intensifying her bare skin as she walked through the guad. While there, she tried to look for a familiar face, searching for a place to sit down and rest. Her blue eyes were half-shut, in a dreamy, distant stare, aimed at the life surrounding her. Her golden locks rested peacefully on her shoulders, and her thin lips were turned upward into a slight smile. Mikaela was always smiling -- she was simply a happy girl, all the time. It was this main reason why people were often drawn to her, her charismatic personality. She just had something about her that interested people, and she was the kind of person that you just wanted to learn more about.
Still, her mind wasn't exactly all there today. Lately, her dreams had been haunted by her past and she was hating it. Whenever she fell asleep, she dreamed of the day her father died. Being reminded of his death made it all feel so real again, and it took all of Mikaela's strength not to let her pain show. Why was she constantly dreaming of this? It was a question that had crossed her mind a million times since the dreams started a few days previously. She thought she was over everything. Over her his death. Over growing up without a father. Over her entire past. But lately, it was starting to seem as if she wasn't. She ran a hand through her hair, mumbling profanities at herself. Mikaela just couldn't figure out what it was that was wrong with her. Sighing, she let her eyes wander across the quad, searching for a familiar face. She stared out blankly at the scenary that surrounded her, letting her thoughts roam completely over everything. Her past life, her present life, her personal choices, everything. But at the moment, she just wished for someone who could come and take all her thoughts away.
